Welcome friends with a curved border. Sharp, modern lines look crisp, but they are not for everyone. If you crave a softer look, try introducing a round shape to your patio with a gently curved bench made from stone or wood.
At the dining table. A two-seater bench (with or without a back) makes a flexible and stylish substitute for a few dining chairs. Couples, or parents with children, can sit together, and individuals can spread out alone or share the bench with a friend. For more formal affairs, move the bench off to one side and use just dining chairs spread around the table, and when the guests are packed in, pull up the bench for two extra seats (you might even squeeze in a third person if people are willing to share). With a bench handy, you can suit any situation or mood.
